Turning Textile Waste into Purpose
🌿 Welcome to Ecofriendly Initiatives

💚 Who We Are
🌿 About Ecofriendly Initiatives
Ecofriendly Initiatives is more than just a sustainable brand—it’s a community-driven platform. We partner with NGOs, senior citizens, special needs vocational centers, self-help groups, and artisans to create a powerful ecosystem of people passionate about environmental change and creativity.
We believe in the power of collaboration and skill-building to bring about real-world change. Through our initiative, we give textile waste a new lease on life, turning it into beautiful, useful products that inspire and empower.
Ecofriendly Initiatives was conceived under the Circular Economy Catalyst programme. We received nurturing at Nagpur InFed centre. Also, under the circular economy catalyst starter grant, we received around 430 euros.

🌟 Transforming Waste into Worth
The Eco-Innovation Journey of Chhaya Taralekar
Under the thoughtful guidance of Chhaya Taralekar, a passionate mentor and eco-warrior, discarded textile waste is being transformed into sustainable, value-driven products. Committed to a zero-waste lifestyle, Chhaya repurposes even the most neglected fabrics—including those from dumping grounds—into 21 innovative byproducts such as bags, rugs, quilts, cushion covers, aprons, soft toys, wall hangings, coasters, planters, bookmarks, scrunchies, jewelry, and more.
Inspired by her mother’s values of conservation and self-sufficiency, Chhaya embraces the principles of reuse, recycle, and reduce. Her work not only supports environmental sustainability and the circular economy but also empowers local women tailors by offering livelihood opportunities that allow them to support their families.
In recognition of her impactful work, she was honored with the “Best Out of Waste” award by Panvel Municipal Corporation. Chhaya’s model is a testament to how creativity, compassion, and community spirit can lead us toward a more sustainable future.
💚We collaborated with

Deepak Vishwakarma ( CreateTogether Foundation)
I first met Mrinalini Ma’am during one of our early projects when she generously supported us with a paint bucket — a small gesture that left a big impact. Since then, her support has only grown stronger. With her help, we’ve collected around 400 kg of textile waste and upcycled it into beautiful, usable products. Her unwavering support has opened up new avenues for us — from connecting us with potential buyers to bringing fresh ideas that continue to elevate our work.
Her Ecofriendly Initiative has become more than just a movement — it’s a platform for growth and collaboration. She not only promotes eco-conscious living but leads by example. From giving us plant saplings for tree plantation drives to being actively involved in every step of the journey, Mrinalini Ma’am’s passion and commitment shine through.
She is a true visionary whose tireless efforts towards building a greener future are both commendable and deeply appreciated. I am grateful for all the guidance, encouragement, and opportunities she has provided. Her contribution to our project Parihoonmain has been invaluable, and I look forward to many more years of working together to create a sustainable and empowered community.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Deepak Vishwakarma

Charmistry Studio
I am a founder of charmistry studios trying to build sustainable handcrafted products and my mom being a founder of pinkari creating products using cloth left overs. Our aim is to create products that are eco friendly, blending traditionalism into modernism.
We first met Mrinalini mam from eco friendly initiative after getting in touch with her online through her page. She enlightened us with her idea behind this initiative.
We have had the pleasure of witnessing Mrinalini Mam’s incredible commitment to sustainability through their eco-friendly initiative. By tirelessly collecting cloth waste that would otherwise end up in landfills, she has created a powerful ripple effect—empowering local artisans, small businesses, and creative minds to transform discarded fabric into beautiful, useful products.
Her passion for the environment goes beyond just recycling; it’s about building a community that values conscious living and resourcefulness. Their initiative not only reduces textile waste but also inspires others to think differently about consumption and waste. It’s rare to see someone turn a simple idea into such a meaningful and impactful movement, and I wholeheartedly support and admire the work she is doing.
